The Mekong River Delta, which is located in the south of Vietnam, has the highest agricultural production, not only in Vietnam but also in Southeast Asia. This area is also one of the key economic regions of Vietnam that has high population density and also a high demand for water resources for domestic and production purposes. According to the report from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the total water demand in 2020 needs about 1.97 million m3<\/sup>\/day; by 2025 about 2.65 million m3<\/sup>\/day, and by 2030 this figure will be 3.27 million m3<\/sup>\/day.
